Congratulations Class of 2026!

You did it! Enjoy your summer and remember to take time to READ! Report cards can be picked up from the front office. Parents, thanks for all of your support over this past school year. It was greatly appreciated.

End of the Year Celebration

Today we celebrated! We have worked very hard this year. All of our children have made progress and I am very proud of them. Tomorrow will be a bittersweet day for me. While I am excited to see them move on to other challenges, I will definitely miss them. Here is a look into our day.

Here we are making end of the year lapbooks.

Boy, do we love a bag exchange!

A great big thank you to Mrs. Davis for the treat bags. You rock!

End of the Year Celebration

Since our children enjoyed the Christmas bag exchange so much, we decided to do the same for our end of the year celebration. Each child received a brown paper bag with a letter attached.

Have your child decorate the bag and print their name on
the bottom of the bag. That way I know whose bag is
whose and can make sure a child doesn’t get their own
bag.
Your child will not be eating their own bag. We will be
playing a game to switch the bags around.

Please return the brown bag filled with:
*a juice box (or Kool-Aid Jammer)
*a small bag of chips (pretzels, popcorn)
*a chocolate item
*a candy item
*a non-candy “summer” item (Dollar Store ~ such as stickers, bubbles, sunglasses)
Please have the filled bags to me by:
______5/24/16______

We will hold our celebration on May 25, 2016.

If you would like to donate any other store bought treats or treat bags, it would be appreciated!

Graduation Practice

Graduation practice has begun. We will only have four practice sessions. Parents, please encourage your child to be on their best behavior so that they are able to hear and follow all directions. This is a very important occasion for second grade.

Land of Smiles

Today we attended a program designed to teach our children about dental health. The program was called "Land of Smiles" and was sponsored by Delta Dental. The children really enjoyed the program and learned a lot. Delta Dental presented each child with a dental health toolkit.

Our very own Hayden was chosen to be a helper!

Insect Unit

Today, our students wrapped up their insect unit with a butterfly release. The students have learned the characteristics of insects and have closely observed the different stages of the butterfly life cycle.

Homework

Homework will be handed out on tomorrow, Wednesday. I apologize for this, however, our copy machine was out of commission for a short while. Also, I have decided not to give new words this week. We will test on the current pattern (tion) on Friday. Students will receive their final word work list on Monday.

Field Day 2016

Field Day 2016 was a success! Our children had a ball. They enjoyed the games, but the most anticipated part of the day was concessions. Thank you parents for making sure that all obligations were taken care of. I had 100% of my students to return or pay for their pictures.

Friday is Field Day

Please remember that Field Day is this Friday. All picture money and library fines must be paid in order for your child to participate. The weather right now is calling for partly cloudy and 75 degrees. This will be very nice. We are asking that all children dress accordingly to be outside most of the day. They will need to wear tennis shoes in order to participate in most of the activities. If they need sunscreen, a hat, or sunglasses they may bring those on that day as well. They can also bring a towel to sit on for picnic lunch and for concessions. We will get to buy concessions at the end of the day and you are asked to send small bills with the children. Also, please have your child wear their class t-shirt on Friday.
