Happy Easter

It is so hard to believe that spring break is already here. When we return, we will have only 42 days of school left. Please allow the children to relax and have this next week to recharge. The next nine weeks will be vigorous as we get ready for third grade. We worked very hard this week. The children used our new tablets for a research project on economics. After watching a few videos on goods and needs, as well as consumers and producers, they worked as teams to create anchor charts to display their learning.

They also presented their projects to the class. I was so proud of them! They all asked, "Can we do this again?" Of course my answer was, "Of course we will!" I love it when they enjoy learning.

Happy Easter and have a wonderful spring break!

New Technology

Today we welcomed tablets into our classroom. This allows us to participate in activities which are fun, engaging, challenging and related to state standards. We started the day by creating tablet rules to ensure that we care for our tablets. Students paired up to operate a tablet and we wrote our opinions of having technology in the classroom.
The weather was beautiful today. We took advantage and enjoyed outside independent reading and popsicles!

Our Trip to the Museum

We visited the SC State Museum today and the children had a ball. We had the opportunity to enjoy a  planetarium show and it was a great experience. There was so much to explore! The only complaint was that we did not have more time. Thanks to our chaperones, Ms Rozier, Mrs. English and Mrs Dempsey. Your help was greatly appreciated.

Reminder

This Wednesday, March 9th, we will be going to the State Museum. Please have car riders present by 7:45 so that we can load buses by 8:15 a.m. Students are asked to wear their 2nd grade t-shirts. We enjoyed our pizza party this past Friday.

In celebration of Read Across America Week, we had a guest reader. Judge Pandora Jones-Glover
took time from her busy schedule to read to our children.
