Literacy Fair/ Family Night

I would like to thank everyone who came out on this past Monday for Family Night. We had an awesome turnout and the children were so excited to perform for their family members. You made the Literacy Fair a success!

Parents, on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, we will begin MAP testing. We will test again on Thursday, February 4th. Testing for our class will begin at 8:30 am on both days. Please make sure your child arrives on time and is well rested in order to do their best on the test.

Projects due today!

Literacy fair projects were due today and I am so proud of our students. Students were given the opportunity to present their boards in class and they all did an excellent job! We have since moved all boards to the gym. Parents, thank you for your help with this project. Anytime we can promote reading, it's a win. All projects will be on display during Family Night, Monday, January 25, 2016.

Happy Birthday, Jared!

Literacy Fair Projects

Literacy fair projects are due Thursday, January 21, 2016. Students were given a packet with instructions on January 11th. A non-fiction and a fiction board were done in class so that the students could see the process. Also, I have posted word study words. We will not test on this list (week 19) until January 29th due to the upcoming short week. I hope that everyone enjoys their extended weekend!

Happy New Year!

Welcome back and Happy New Year!  It is hard to believe that 2016 is already here.  I hope that you all had a great holiday break.  I would like to thank you for all of the gifts presented to me at Christmas time.  I am enjoying them all.

January 15th will be the last day of the second nine weeks.  As we begin the third nine weeks of school, please continue to encourage your child to always put forth his or her best effort. Please make sure that homework is completed daily and don’t forget to read with your child at least fifteen minutes per night.

Parents, please remember to view and sign your child’s agenda each evening.  If you have any comments or questions for me, you may write them in the agenda.  If you need to contact me by phone, the number is 536-4782.  I have found that the best way to communicate with parents, other than in person, is by e-mail.  My e-mail address is lucinda.reynolds@ocsd4sc.net.

Please allow me to extend a heartfelt appreciation for your active role in your child’s education.  Your support and assistance will help to make this year a success.
